Document Scanner Trial allows you to scan documents with your phone camera, convert them into PDF, and email the PDF document to anyone, all from your mobile phone. You can even upload your file to Google docs, Evernote, Dropbox or to Box.net for sharing with others, or just for storing. You can also print to a Google Cloud printer or FedEx Office printer through integration with third party apps Cloudprint and breezy.
You can scan any number of pages and convert them into one single PDF file. You can even add to an existing set of scanned documents. So, for instance, you could scan several pages and make a folder. Later if you wanted, you could scan some more pages and add them to the earlier folder you had created. The concept of folders lets you work on your documents and come back to them as needed.
You can choose to email the file immediately, or save it on your phone for later use. The PDF file is saved to your phone's SD card. The possibilities for its use are infinite! You can scan medical reports for your doctors visit, use it when on business travel, for scanning receipts, for school/college projects…and the list goes on and on. You can use it to take notes: just scan the whiteboard and save for later! Also great for realtors and lawyers!
The app includes cropping and perspective correction. You took the picture of that document at an angle- no problem! The app will select the four corner points of the document (with manual adjustment possible as well) and correct that image. It will also automatically crop at those points to reduce your file size. You can also adjust the grayscale as desired, or convert the document to black & white.
Also available: an experimental capability to upload to Google Docs with OCR.
